DIRECTIONS and GPS-Coordinates
to Acra-Retreat **Mountain View Lodge** (also in german Language)

Here are the directions to and GPS coordinates of Acra-Retreat.
Please note, that due to the new re-naming of towns, Waterval Boven is now also called : Emgwenya
From Johannesburg:
Take the N12 direction Witbank (now eMalahleni) . At eMalahleni the N12 mergers with the N4 from Pretoria direction Nelspruit / Belfast. Pass Witbank, Middelburg, Belfast and Machadodorp.
After The Machado Plaza Toll Gate keep on the right lane, which is the N4 to Nelspruit via Waterval Boven. The exit to Waterval Boven is about 5 Km from the Machadodorp Plaza toll gate. (If you are at the tunnel, you went to far!)
From OR Tambo International Airport :
Keep to the lane direction Boksburg (signage only printed on the road !!)
Take the second turnoff onto the N12 direction Witbank (now eMalahleni). Follow the instructions from Johannesburg (above).
From Pretoria :
Take the N4 direction Nelspruit.
From Nelspruit :
Take the N4 direction Machadodorp. After going through the tunnel, turn left at the Waterval Boven exit.
From Panorama Route:
WARNING ! WARNING ! WARNING ! WARNING !
Under all circumstances avoid the direct road (R 36) from Lydenburg (now Mashishing) !!!
We call it the “Highway to Hell”! It is full of potholes and will definitely cost you some time and nerves driving that way.
If you are already in Lydenburg, rather take the R 37 direction Sabie and enjoy the Tom-Tom pass.
Before Sabie turn south direction Ngodwana and take the R 539. You should then come onto the N4. Turn right direction JHB.
Then follow the directions from Nelspruit, taking the N4 direction JHB via Machadodorp.
After approx. 1 hour you will be driving through a tunnel.
3 Km after the tunnel take the exit to Waterval Boven on the left side.
In Waterval Boven :
--We strongly advise to use our directions and signs in town, as some route-planners (Garmin, TomTom, …) send you sometimes to a wrong address.--
-- Drive under the railway bridge and take the 1st road to the right.
-- At the stop sign (T-junction) - turn right. Pass the Hospital.
-- The next entrance to the left (400m) is Acra Retreat.

Bleiben Sie auf der Spur Richtung Boksburg (Beschilderung/Markierung nur direkt auf dem Strassenbelag)
Nehmen Sie die 2. Abfahrt auf die N12 East Autobahn Richtung Witbank ( jetzt eMalahleni).
Folgen Sie dann den Anweisungen von Johannesburg (siehe unten) Von Johannesburg :
Nehmen Sie die N12 East Autobahn Richtung Witbank ( jetzt eMalahleni). Nach ca. 115 km verbindet sich die N12 mit der N4 Richtung Nelspruit. Folgen Sie der N4 (insg. ca. 225 km) bis zur Machadodorp Strassenzollstelle (Machadodorp Plaza). Nach der Machadodorp Strassenzollstelle bleiben Sie auf der rechten Spur und nehmen dann die Abzweigung nach rechts – die N4 via Waterval Boven. Nach ca. 5 km nehmen Sie die Abfahrt nach Waterval Boven. Von Pretoria:
Nehmen Sie die N4 nach Nelspruit. Dann Beschreibung wie oben. Von Nelspruit:
Nehmen Sie die N4 Richtung Waterval Boven. Oder N4 Richtung Johannesburg via Machadodorp
Etwa eine Stunde später --> Nach dem Tunnel nehmen Sie die erste Abfahrt links nach Waterval Boven Panorama Route: !! ACHTUNG !! Unter allen Umständen vermeiden die direkte Straße (R 36) von Lydenburg (jetzt Mashishing) !!! Wir nennen sie den "Highway to Hell"! Die Strasse ist voller Schlaglöcher und Sie werden auf jeden Fall einige Zeit und Nerven verlieren. Wenn Sie bereits in Lydenburg sind, nehmen Sie die R 37 Richtung Sabie und genießen Sie den Tom-Tom Pass. Vor Sabie biegen Sie nach Süden Richtung Ngodwana und nehmen Sie die R 539. Sie sollten dann auf die N4 kommen. Biegen Sie rechts Richtung JHB ab. Dann folgen Sie den Anweisungen von Nelspruit, nehmen Sie die N4 Richtung JHB via Machadodorp. Nach etwa einer Stunde fahren Sie durch einen Tunnel. Nach etwa 3 Km nehmen Sie die Ausfahrt Waterval Boven und biegen links ab. In Waterval Boven:
Nach der Eisenbahnbrücke nehmen Sie die Umgehungsstrasse nach rechts (Unserem Schild folgen) Am Ende der Strasse folgen Sie der Strasse nach rechts.
Etwa 400m nach dem Krankenhaus nehmen Sie die Abfahrt nach links und schon sind Sie am Ziel. Im Notfall (0027) (0)83 643 5305 oder (0027) (0)78 941 6035 anrufen.
